Scout James is a bi designer, coder and actor.

As an actor, he has performed in readings and workshops of brand new plays at Juilliard, Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival (for Primary Stages), New York Theatre Workshop, New Dramatists, Williamstown Theatre Festival, New Georges, PS 122, Dixon Place and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Scout got his start acting at Juneau’s Perseverance Theatre and is studying at the Groundlings school (next up: Advanced Lab).

As a designer, he’s helped hundreds of individuals, organizations and businesses create lovely print and digital matter. For over a decade, Scout has wielded expert knowledge of CSS and web development to create beautiful online spaces across coding languages and CMS platforms.

Scout creates, hosts & maintains websites through Typecoast, a digital workshop based in Los Angeles. Along with a network of illustrators, coders, designers experts, Scout brings his decade of web design experience and experimentation to web projects for businesses, organizations and individuals, helping them navigate the new web.
